M-Commerce People

Mobile Commerce, its impact on me personally and on modern business.

My husband has realised for some time now, that there is a third person in our marriage...my smartphone.
I call it a person because it has the ability to communicate and it usually does what I ask, which is nice .I love the fact that while on a 2 hr car journey
(I am the passenger)  it is possible to price compare , purchase and receive confirmation that our house insurance has been paid. Check my bank account for any surprise direct debits that might have popped up that morning.Read emails, the news, a weather report and have my Google Maps app ready to search when we get slightly lost.

Without wanting to sound like an ad for smartphone manufacturers it amazes me that you can  literately  run  your home and a business by using a smartphone as the main communication tool. How is this possible?

Risky Business

Running a small business is risky, there might not be a lot of cash to spend on office space and equipment. Thanks to technology, there is no need to worry about missing a customers call, email  or a sales order if you are carrying your office around with you. The first step is to organise applications that will cater for your business needs, for example using Google Calender on an android smartphone for scheduling or Facebook for marketing. For me, www.dropbox.com or Google Drive is great for accessing files on the go, especially when I don't want the hassle of carrying my laptop around. There will be of course times when if is preferable to sit in front of your laptop or PC,when  in business mode, although for a small business, that is run on a shoestring by a small group of people or even just one person M-Commerce makes good sense as a backup system.

Have a look at this link Run a Small Business from your Smartphone , nicely explained by PC World.
